November / Tokyo Jidai Matsuri

Tokyo Jidai Matsuri is a festival commemorating the history of Tokyo and Edo culture.

It is held on November 3rd(Cultural DAy) every year.

Volunteers dress in period clothes and parade around Asakusa.

There are many spectators along the streets.

his used to be a market for New Years decorations.

After more and more shops began to sell Hago-ita at the market, this market started to be called Hago-ita Ichi.

Hago-ita is a decorative item to help girls to grow and be healthy.

Every year, this is held from December 17th to the 19th at Sensouji Temple. There will be many Temporary Hago-ita shops with gorgeous Hago-itas.
